MENTOR PROGRAM

Applications are now closed.
STEM for Her has launched a Mentor Program for college students. The STEM for Her mission is to create awareness, excitement and opportunities among girls and young women to launch successful STEM-related careers. Mentorship is a critical component of that mission, and we have launched this program as a way to advance it.
The application window for Fall 2023 closed on September 15. Please check back in December for information on our Spring 2024 Mentor Program.
Please note: Preference will be given to freshman and sophomore undergraduate students but all college-aged students encouraged to apply.

Mentees will:
- Set actionable goals for the program
- Be accountable to meeting those goals through mentor sessions, reflection assignments and program events
- Network with other mentees and mentors
- May network with mentor’s professional network if appropriate
- Leave the program with actionable takeaways to advance field of interest
- I.e. Additional programs to sign up for, courses to take, internships to explore, etc.
Mentors will guide mentees by:
- Educating them about STEM-related careers and various paths to them
- Providing them with real life anecdotes
- I.e. Mentors’ direct academic and career experiences
- Growing their personal and professional networks through introductions where appropriate

Requirements:
Students/Mentees:
- Must be a full-time or part-time college undergraduate or graduate student in good standing.
- Must complete a mentor application.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Due to limited space – Must participate in a 15-minute interview.
Professionals/Mentors:
- Must complete a mentor application.
- Must participate in an interview.
